The
seal of the Idaho state flag was designed by Miss Emma Edwards
in 1891. The seal shows a man with his pick and shovel, a stamp
mill and a pine tree to represent forestry, mining and
agriculture. The female figure, combined with the scales and
liberty cap symbolizing Liberty and Justice stands for women's
rights. The motto "Esto Perpetua" means "may she
last forever" and the star represents Idaho's place in the
Union. |
