General Freemont Flag
This flag was carried by General John Fremont on his explorations to the far west during the 1840's. The army usually did not carry the national flag during this period so this distinctive flag was designed and made by his wife, Jessie Benton Fremont especially for his expeditions. The original flag is on display in the Southwest Museum in Los Angeles, California.
